Burleigh Brewing Company

Poducing fine Beer using traditional brewing methods. Open for tours and tastings 7 days a week.

Traditional brewing methods have been followed for centuries
by the world's finest brewmasters. At Burleigh Brewing Company we continue
those time-honoured methods. Taking our time to produce our Duke Beers allows
us to make real beer. We don't take shortcuts and we don't use refined sugars,
chemical additives or artificial processes to speed things up. And limiting the
distance we let the beer travel ensures we get it to you quickly, so you can
drink it fresh, with no need for artificial preservatives or pasteurisation, it
reaches you in real, fresh condition, with a local flavour.

 Get yourself a real,
fresh Duke Beer and sit back and relax while you get to know us a little
better.

You will soon discover that Burleigh Brewing Company is more
than a brewery, it is a passionate and committed team of experienced people who
continually strive to produce beer of the finest quality, flavour and freshness
- exclusively for our region - for that local flavour.

At Burleigh Brewing Company, beer is serious business. The
rest, well, what do you think working in a brewery would be like?

Real Fresh Beer

By now you've probably figured out that we're all about
real, fresh beer. We'll here's a bit more info about precisely what that means.
While stale beer is unlikely to make you sick (consumption levels depending, of
course!) beer tastes much better if you consume it fresh. How do you know
whether you're getting your beer in peak condition?

Heat, light, oxygen and time are the key elements affecting
the freshness (or otherwise!) of beer. These factors, alone or in combination -
can prematurely age your beer and hasten its journey to stale. In the world of
beer, heat, light and oxygen make time travel faster - so a date stamp alone
won't tell you everything!

At Burleigh Brewing Company we are all about fresh beer, all
the way from the grain to the glass. Our brewing equipment and methods ensure
the product is of the purest quality. But it doesn't stop there.

Our brown beer bottles protect the natural hops from harmful
UV light. Our beer is stored cold at the brewery, it is not pasteurised and is
allowed to travel only a short distance (throughout Duke Land), so exposure to
heat is minimised. And our crowning glory, the BB Beer Cap, is lined with a
natural, oxygen absorbing liner that gobbles up any oxygen that does manage to
find its way into the bottles during the packaging process.

Our Beer

Duke (dyook) n. 1. sovereign / independent leader of a
region. 2. first name of the father of modern surfing.

And that's our beer - tradition with a fresh, coastal twist!
Local flavour.

Burleigh Brewing Company currently produces three Duke
beers, Burleigh Hefeweizen and Bighead. Stay tuned for news of the addition of
even further varieties!

No matter what the style, you can be sure that all beers
produced by Burleigh Brewing Company adhere to our strict quality benchmarks
and maintain their integrity as real fresh beers.

All Burleigh Brewing Company beers are:

    * naturally
brewed in the traditions of the masters

    * pure and free
from any nasty chemicals or artificial additives or preservatives (so they not
only taste better, they don't cause chemical headaches!)

    * free from
adjuncts like sugar or corn

    * all packaged in
brown bottles to ensure that harmful UV light does not penetrate the beer and
destroy the character of the natural hops

    * all sealed with
the BB crown which has an oxygen absorbing liner to minimise the chance for
oxygen to prematurely age the beer and render it stale

    * kept in peak
condition in our brewery's cold room before travelling the short distance to
your local restaurant, bar or bottle shop or a Duke Land citizen's beer fridge!

Our Brewery

Like everything we do at Burleigh Brewing Company, our
brewery equipment honours traditional brewing methods and the quality products
they produce, while taking advantage of modern innovation and technical
efficiencies to give things a fresh approach.

The equipment was specifically commissioned from 4 different
countries to create a brewery that ensures product quality and consistency,
cost effectiveness, system and process efficiency and the ability to maximise
shelf life without the need to pasteurise our beer. Water and energy efficiency
were also paramount considerations.

Every step of the brewing process, from system and
ingredient preparation to production itself, product transfers, equipment
cleaning, packaging and maintenance, has a significant effect on the final
product's quality, flavour and stability. The Burleigh Brewing Company system ensures
quality control mechanisms exist at all relevant points in the production
chain.

Tours and Tastings

Check out our Brewery Lounge page for bar opening hours. If
you want to include a tour and beer appreciation session in your visit, then
this page is the place to be.

Brewery Lounge

Our Brewery Lounge opens you up to a whole world of beer and
brewing and is where you can enjoy our real, fresh Duke beers at the source.
You can sit at our giant beer drinking table or relax in a comfy couch and
enjoy the real, fresh Duke beers, all with an up close and personal view of the
BB Brewhouse.

All Tanks Tales and Tastings finish in the Brewery Lounge,
where you have an opportunity to enjoy a beer with the brewers and find out why
they are so passionate about their craft - and why they work so hard to make
the Duke beers taste so good!

Brew House Bash

On the first Friday evening of every month, we throw open
the doors of the Brewery Lounge, with the bar open from 5.00-8:30pm. Join us at
our famous Brew House Bashes and enjoy our Real, Fresh Duke Beers at the
source. You'll also be able to munch on a German Sausage or two around the BBQ.

We are happy to say that all BBQ proceeds go to local
charities and community groups. If you are involved with a great local cause
and would like to partner with us for one of these events, please get in touch!

Saturday Sessions

The Brewery Lounge and Bar is open every Saturday afternoon
from 2.00-6.00pm. Come in and join us for a Real, Fresh Duke Beer. We also
serve Daisy Dukes and a limited range of juices and softdrinks over the bar.

Bar snacks are available, or you are welcome to bring your
own snacks or gourmet picnic. During a Tanks, Tales and Tastings session at
Burleigh Brewing you get an up-close encounter with our equipment, you get to
climb the steps to the brewer's platform and peer inside the tanks, you get to
spend 45 minutes with a brewmaster, hearing all kinds of fascinating insights
into beer and brewing, you get a 200ml glass of each of our three Duke beers -
and you get to take the Burleigh Brewing Company logo'd glass home with you!
And afterwards, the bar remains open so you can hang around and enjoy a few
more Real, Fresh Dukes in our comfy Brewery Lounge.

For those of you who think the brewery is only for blokes
and beer lovers, we have to disagree! Despite having encouraged many a
non-beer-lover to try a Duke – and converting quite a few in the process - we
have developed some very tasty elixirs’ known as Daisy Dukes! Daisy Dukes are
based on the real, fresh beer that Duke Land is becoming famous for … but with
a mango, blackcurrant or ginger twist!

Don't forget that your spot in the Tanks, Tales and Tastings
session must be pre-booked and pre-paid. You can book online (below) or call
the brewery on 5593 6000. We’ll get in touch to organise payment.
